Privacy

This note describes what Gigapurge does with information on your Mac. Gigapurge is made by Supreme Information Security LLC. Questions: support@gigapurge.com.

Lemon Squeezy is the merchant of record. It processes the payment and issues the license key on its own site. Gigapurge does not see or store the card number.

What stays on your Mac

The app reads file names, sizes, and modification dates so it can show caches, leftovers, duplicates, large files, and a map of folders. It does not upload file contents, file names, or folder lists. There is no analytics and no telemetry.

A list of items moved to the Trash is stored only on this Mac, in Application Support, so Put Back can find them.

Network

The app is built to use the network for two things, and only those:

  1. Update checks. The app checks https://gigapurge.com/appcast.xml for a newer version. A typical check sends the app version and the operating-system version. It does not send a list of your files. You choose when to install an update.
  2. License checks. The app talks only to api.lemonsqueezy.com for a license. Activating a license sends the license key and this Mac's name. A later check, at most once a day, sends the license key and the instance ID returned at activation. Deactivating this Mac sends the same license key and instance ID. It does not send file contents, file names, a scan of the disk, or payment details.

Nothing else in the app opens a network connection.

What you can do

Put Back does not require a license. Scanning, review, and the space map do not require a license. Emptying the Trash is something you do yourself in Finder; the app never empties it.

Nothing moves until you confirm, and what moves goes to the Trash.
